I want to go back to Egypt... NOT!

How many times does the Lord provide for me in my life and I respond to Him like the Israelite's, who when they were hungry and thirsty did not appreciate what was provided, but complained wanting what they once had had?  What they had was not a good thing.  Pharaoh was very controlling, and mean.

What makes us not appreciate the blessing of the Lord so much?  He cares for, and provides all that we have need of.  "And my God shall supply all your need according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus" (Philippians 4:19).  According to His riches... His ways are so much better than ours.  We can learn so much from His Word!  We have the privilege of seeing what the Israelite's couldn't.  They had to go through it, we can look at it and say "they should have done this" or "they should have not done that".  We do not have the same advantage with our own lives.  We have to go through it, we don't see the end.  I could lie and say that I have never complained about the provision of the Lord when it was not exactly what I desired, but sadly, I have.  God is the only one that can see, and knows our life from the beginning to the end.  "Your eyes saw my substance, being yet unformed. And in Your book they all were written, The days fashioned for me, When as yet there were none of them" (Psalm 139:16).  God has plans for our lives beyond what we can comprehend. "For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future" (Jeremiah 29:11).  His plans are better than ours always.  His ways are not our ways, His thoughts are not our thoughts.  I am very thankful for this.  I would much rather the Almighty Creator of the Universe be in control of my life. "'For My thoughts are not your thoughts, Nor are your ways My ways' says the LORD.  'For as the heavens are higher than the earth, So are My ways higher than your ways, and My thoughts than your thoughts'" (Isaiah 55: 8-9).  As He did with the Israelite's; He also provides all that I need.  Life does not look like I had envisioned it years ago.  It is much different than I ever imagined it would be.  And I am going to say, even though there are struggles, it is better than I ever imagined!  I am so thankful to the Lord for His presence, His provision, and His concern in and for my life.

With all the truths in His Word, I often wonder how I can possibly ever question His provisions!  Shameful!  I can sit here and read Exodus and learn all about the foolish choices, and thoughts of them, and the anger that Moses had when he got fed up with them complaining, (in which, he was complaining also), but I am right there with them so often.

Dear God, please help me to open my eyes to the glorious provisions You provide for me daily.  The fact that You call me Your own should be enough for me.  Thank You.  In Jesus Name, Amen
